El Salvador – The working end of this adventure is coming to a close tomorrow

The working end of this adventure is coming to a close tomorrow with the writing of the final exams. We have just returned from dinner with the Bomberos at the home of the Canadian Ambassador to El Salvador, Pierre Grioux. Amazing dinner by the pool overlooking San Salvador…very impressive!

On this deployment, we have been to the top of a Volcano, spent a day at the ocean and will swim in a lake located inside a dormant volcano on Saturday…Despite poverty and run down buildings, San Salvador is a beautiful, vibrant city. With 300 or so Bombers in a city of 6 million, there are certainly many challenges!

The team that was selected for this deployment has been outstanding and nothing short of amazing. They came together very early and bonded as a strong group of Firefighters working very well together – They have made my job as Team Leader incredibly easy and almost effortless. This trip has been an amazing experience and I am thankful to FRITA for the opportunity!
